Zoning Code Community Open Houses

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, community open houses will not be held for the recently released Draft New Code. However, the public is invited to participate in the upcoming virtual Study Sessions as follows:

February 2, 2021, 7:00 pm – Joint City Council and Planning Commission

February 8, 2021, 7:00 pm – Planning Commission

Any interested members of the public desiring to watch the meeting or communicate with the Commission or Council regarding the Draft New Zoning Code, Map and associated Mitigated Negative Declaration must do so by accessing the following link:  https://bit.ly/2Jcjdvq, clicking on the Planning Commission or City Council meeting date, and following the public comment instructions listed for this agenda item.

Community Open Houses were held to receive public input and answer questions on the New Zoning Code in an informal setting. Planning Commission Study Sessions were held immediately following the Open Houses.

1st Community Open House/Planning Commission Study Session, New Zoning Code Introduction was held on Monday, March 25, 2019.

2nd Community Open House/Planning Commission Study Session Featuring Module 1 – Terms and References was held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.

3rd Community Open House and Planning Commission Study Session Featuring Module 2 – Zoning Districts and Purposes was held on Monday, July 22, 2019.

4th Community Open House and Planning Commission Study Session Featuring Module 3 – Citywide Standards was held on Monday, October 7, 2019.

5th Community Open House and Planning Commission Study Session Featuring Module 3 – Citywide Standards, Report B was held on Monday, November 4, 2019.

The Planning Commission also held a second Study Session on November 18, 2019.  

The City did not host a Community Open House for Module 4 Administrative Procedures and Permits; however, a Study Session with the Planning Commission was held on December 16, 2019.

6th Community Open House was held for the District Report A – Residential Districts on February 3, 2020.
